Multiple ECommerce websites as well as state-initiated web portals are functioning in India in order to promote uniformity in agricultural marketing across the integrated markets by removing information asymmetry between buyers and sellers. While ecommerce and use of digital technology has proven to reduce input costs, improve transparency and saving time, stakeholders are reluctant to utilize this new technology for trading agricultural produces in spite of close opportunities. Through this dissertation, the author hopes improve to build up on the policy discourse leading to improvement of these e-platforms for both buyers and cultivators in agriculture. Using a case study of the e-NAM APMC at Katol in rural Vidarbha, the dissertation essentially tries to identify the underlying patterns of social, cultural and economic nature that generate the flaws that infest the e-NAM administration. With the help of this understanding, the author tries to come up with a reccommendations for smoothening the transition towards etrading for all the stakeholders.en1.
