    Case Study Analysis Of Adequate Compensation Opportunities For Employees During Retrenchment, Lay-Off And Closure: Special focus on JL Morison and Kingfisher Airlines Pvt Ltd

    The objective of this paper is mainly to analyse the opportunities for adequate compensation for employees during closure of companies by making specific case study reviews of JL Morison and Kingfisher Airlines Pvt Ltd. This is an attempt to analyze the status of labour and the problems associated with developing a viable ―exit policy‖ consistent with economic logic and sensitive to the human and social dimensions of change. The existing legislations related to industrial closures with relevant provisions which offers hope for employment security have been identified post literature survey. The rationale behind selecting these specific legislations is post legislative analysis and literature survey it was found that there exists a ground for development of exclusive policy framework for labour restructuring, rehabilitation and employment security. Therefore the research will be exploratory in nature dealing with cross-sectional data to make inference from the examples chosen for study. This study involves data from primary sources, information with regards to the specific cases of JL Morison and Kingfisher Airlines, talking to legal experts and also interviewing the affected employees of these companies. The description of setting is Bangalore city. Through the findings of this study, a significant outcome would be the identification and realization of potential legislative alternatives in the form of policy using relevant provisions of the identified legislations based upon empirically proven qualitative and quantitative evidence.
