Social entrepreneurship is the approach of tackling intractable social problems with entrepreneurial spirit and innovative business acumen. There has been a significant increase in Indian social entrepreneurs in providing solutions to the problems of the vulnerable group. Though social entrepreneurship is an emerging trend in India, there is little academic research on policies and practice of social entrepreneurship. The study by using ontological meta –analysis would provide a systematic and systemic analysis of the state of academic research, policies and practice of social entrepreneurship .It will explore the strengths of and gaps in the triangular base of academic research, policy landscape, and practice of social entrepreneurship in India. The study will be an impetus for future research and act as a road map for policies. This would enable government to identify the strength and gaps in policies and develop future strategies for policy framework that would enable an advanced social entrepreneurship ecosystem.en_US
