India's freedom struggle and the Communist party of India

Abstract

The booklet defines the coming of the British and other Europeans as the first invasion of India, and that the starting point of India’s slavery was the defeat of Nawab Sirajuddaullah’s forces in the Battle of Plassey (1757), and argues that the working class and its party, the Communist Party of India (CPI) made an immense contribution to India’s independence. It has three chapters: Colonial exploitation of India; Resistance to colonial rule and the development of the national-liberation struggle; and the Role of the CPI in the freedom struggle.
