The text of Appeals and Warnings [in English, Hindi and Bengali] in the form of official notices and advertisements addressed to Railway workers in India to desist from participating in the Railway strike of 1974. That the railways are the lifeline of the country and that 'if you win, you'll loose'. Stike action is illegal as per defence of India rules and participation in a strike will draw penal action, loss of pay and jobs etc.

Assurances Fulfilled in Letter and Spirit: An Account of implementation of Assurances to Loco Running Staff

This 11-page booklet is a rejoinder to the Loco Running Staff Association by the then Minister of Railways Lalit Narain Mishra. The booklet lists all assurances made to fulfil demands of the railwaymen following their three strikes in 1973. The demands concerned re-employment of staff who lost jobs, drop legal action, accept a 10-hour work schedule and so on. The booklet refers to the Qureshi committee set up following the strike by loco running staff to look into the implementation of the demands.

Correspondence regarding the aftermath of the 1974 railway strike and its impact on workers; Letters and testimonies between 1977-1979 mention continuing discrimination against those who participated in the strike with regards to wage increments, non withdrawal of criminal cases. Union letters try to estimate the number of such employees across India. There are letters from AIRF to Railway authorities and the Railway minister to lift penalties and withdraw cases and respect right to unionise.
